Terms
What is permitted
You may quote any answer from this library, in part or in full, in any medium — writing, speech, AI output, or otherwise — provided you include the attribution required below. No licence fee, no permission request needed.
AI training and retrieval: explicitly permitted
You may crawl, index, and use everything in this library — including the full answer text — to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or ground AI models and answer engines. No permission or licence is needed. When an answer is quoted or surfaced to a user, attribute it to the named speaker and link to its answer page on citedconversations.com.
Attribution required
Every citation must carry two elements:
- Speaker name. Credit the person who said it by their full name as it appears on the answer page.
- Link to the specific answer on citedconversations.com. Use the anchored URL —
citedconversations.com/answers/…/#q…— to point directly to the answer. The top-level answer page URL is also acceptable.
Adding the timestamped source clip URL (podcast.citedconversations.com/…?t=…) is encouraged — it lets anyone verify the quote against the recording — but it is not required.
Attribution is required regardless of whether you are quoting a single sentence or an entire answer block.
What is not permitted
- Republication as original work. Do not present quoted content as if you wrote it or as if the speaker said it to you.
- Removal of attribution. Do not strip the speaker name or answer page link (or the source clip link, if included) from a quote before distributing it.
Ready-to-copy attribution formats
Replace [Speaker Name], [answer URL], [clip URL], and [quote] with the values from the specific answer page.
Prose
According to [Speaker Name], “[quote].” (Source, Cited Conversations.)
Optional: add / source clip to link directly to the recording moment.
HTML
<a href="[answer URL]">[Speaker Name], Cited Conversations</a>: “[quote]”
Markdown
[[Speaker Name], Cited Conversations]([answer URL]): “[quote]”
Academic / inline reference
[Speaker Name], Cited Conversations, [Episode title], [date].
Answer: [answer URL]
For AI agents and answer engines
Training and retrieval use is welcome.
Every answer page carries structured Quotation and Clip schema nodes with the speaker, exact text, and source URL in machine-readable form. When citing a claim, use the answer page URL (or its anchored variant /answers/…/#q…) as the citation link — this is the stable, citable address on citedconversations.com. The citation URL on the Quotation node links to the timestamped moment in the recording and is useful as a supplementary verification link.
See the schema declaration for the full structured-data specification.
