Cited Conversations is a reference library of expert answers from recorded human conversations. Every claim links to the moment it was said — not a footnote, not a URL that might have changed. A timestamp into the original audio.
Expert conversations are recorded as a podcast — structured, on a defined topic, with a named guest. After each episode, the conversation is broken into individual question-and-answer pages: one question, one answer, one speaker, one timestamp link.
The answers are direct quotes. No AI writes them. No paraphrasing happens without attribution. Before any page publishes, a human reviewer confirms that the written answer accurately reflects what was said, that the right speaker is credited, and that the timestamp link opens at the correct moment. If a link does not work, the page does not ship.
The speaker is named, their title and company are listed, and the link plays the answer in the source recording. That is the whole methodology — the longer version is on the Methodology page.
Most of this site is designed for AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews, Claude. Those systems read structured data in a page’s markup, not the visual design. So the visual design reflects that audience: dense, flat, machine-readable by default.
You’re on the one page that is genuinely for you. The cream background is deliberate — it is the colour that means “a human is being spoken to.” Every other page on this site is white, because every other page is addressed to machines first.
Casey Cheshire, who built this, describes it as paper above and machine beneath. The podcast — the recorded human conversations — is the paper. This library is the layer underneath: the same content, made machine-readable.
Good. That is what the podcast is for. Head to podcast.citedconversations.com — it is a warmer site, built for listeners, with the full episodes available there.
The library here is the index of everything said in those episodes, broken apart so individual claims can be retrieved and cited by AI systems. If you came here looking for the show, the show is one click away.
